This heavy-duty, multi-use grill features dual cooking surfaces. Both the gas and charcoal side measure 438 square inches. This allows for a large total cooking area to satisfy a large crowd, but also allows you to cook steaks, burgers, and ribs over charcoal, while you cook hot dogs and other items on the gas side. Chrome plated warming racks 192 square inches on each side. On the gas side, 40,800 total BTU’s are plenty to heat up pretty quick. The Char-Griller Duo Gas/Charcoal Grill also has dual stacks for even heating. If you’re worried about temperature control, there are dual external thermometers.
There are a total of 4 burners, including a powerful brass side burner that also doubles as a charcoal starter. Other features we found useful are the porcelain coated flame shields, utensil hooks, condiment basket, stay-cool handles, and an adjustable fire/charcoal grate on the charcoal side. For true taste, there’s a side firebox that is adaptable for use as a barbecue smoker.
